RICHARDSON, TEXAS
— Eastern New Mexico
University freshman goalkeeper Sierra Cardenas (Wheat Ridge, Colo./Wheat Ridge HS) opened her career strong for the Zias,
earning a selection as Lone Star Conference goalkeeper of the Week for her
performance in the opening week of the season. Cardenas’
selection marks the first time an ENMU goalkeeper received weekly LSC honors

year on September, 25th.
On the trip to Billings, Mont.,
Cardenas recorded an .815 save
percentage, made 22 saves in 202:41 of play and started all three games. She
allowed just one goal in contests against regional powerhouses Fort
Lewis and MSU-Billings and made 13
saves against Dixie State.
Cardenas and the Eastern
New Mexico University
women’s soccer team will return to action this weekend as they open their home
schedule. The Zias will host Colorado Christian on Friday morning at 11 a.m. MST and will also host College of the
Southwest on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. MST.
