RICHARDSON, TEXAS — Ethan Wagner (Jr., RF, San Antonio, Texas/Cisco JC/Churchull HS) and Kevin Thompson (So., SS, La Cañada, Calif./La Cañada HS) from the Eastern New Mexico University baseball team have been selected to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for their performance on the field and in the classroom during the 2009 season. The duo helped lead the Greyhounds to their first berth in the LSC Championships.

To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.20 grade point average and have reached sophomore status both athletically and academically.

Wagner has hit .314 for the season with a team-best nine home runs and 48 runs batted in. Earlier in the season, he posted a 10-game hitting streak and currently has hit safely in nine consecutive games. Wagner recorded 13 multiple-hit games, including three-hit outings against New Mexico Highlands, East Central and Tarleton State.

Thompson, a health and physical education major, batted .305 with seven sacrifice hits and 19 RBIs. He had 12 multiple-hit games with a three-for-five performance against Central Oklahoma with a double.
